Calculations happen on your device
GradeKind performs every calculation locally, in your browser. Totals, scores, correct/wrong counts, and points earned or lost are never transmitted to a server.
What GradeKind does not collect
GradeKind does not collect student names, student identifiers, or any entered scores. GradeKind does not require you to register or sign in. Calculation inputs are never sent through analytics or error-reporting tools.
What is saved on your device
To save you re-entering your preferences every visit, GradeKind stores the following in your browser's local storage, on your device only:
- Your custom grading-scale thresholds, if you've changed them from the default.
- Your display preferences (whether decimals are shown, and your chosen chart settings).
This information never leaves your device and is not visible to GradeKind or anyone else. If your browser's storage is unavailable or blocked, the calculator continues to work normally — you'll simply need to re-enter preferences on your next visit.
Resetting saved preferences
Use the "Restore default scale" button on the calculator page to reset your grading scale. Use "Reset saved preferences" to reset the scale and display settings. To also remove offline files, clear your browser's site data for this page (in most browsers: site settings → clear data for this site).
